Melanotan II is a synthetic peptide that mimics Alpha-Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone (α-MSH), a hormone involved in regulating skin pigmentation. It stimulates melanocortin receptors in the body, which can increase melanin production, leading to darker skin pigmentation and tanning.

It has also been studied for effects on appetite regulation and sexual function, including research related to Erectile Dysfunction. Melanotan II is considered experimental and is not approved by the FDA for medical use.
